“Show Your TpT Love” Contest – Details and FAQ’s: http://wshe.es/EKnzKU1F

We want you to make a video “commercial” about why you love TpT… It’s that simple! We want to hear about TpT has helped you, inspired you, and/or empowered you. Your video can be about anything you want, but here are some ideas:

  • Tell us about how a resource created by a TpT Teacher-Author has helped a struggling student or created excitement around a topic or subject in your class.
  • Explain how TpT has empowered you to become a better educator.
  • Share a story about a special friendship you’ve made through TpT or how the connections you’ve made have heped you or inspired you.
  • List the reasons why all educators should join TpT!

Get creative with your video! Upload it to YouTube and make sure it’s over 30 seconds, but under 2 minutes.

  • Once you’ve made your video, submit it via the entry form on our Facebook tab, here. Entries will be accepted until September 13th (at 11:59pm).
    • Click here to read more about how to upload a video to YouTube.
  • At the end of the entry period, a panel of staff members from TpT will watch all of the videos and choose the top 15 based on creativity, originality, and content quality. You will be notified via email if your video is in the top 15.
  • The top 15 will then be published in our contest Facebook tab, here on September 13th (at 11:59pm ET), where voting will be open to the public for one week (until September 20th at 11:59pm ET). Each person will be able to vote once a day while voting is open.

There will be 3 prizes:

First Prize (Video with the most votes):

  • A TRIP FOR TWO TO NYC! Including two round-trip plane tickets, a hotel room in Manhattan for two nights, tickets to a Broadway play, and more!
  • You’ll be invited to our offices to meet Team TpT and see where we spend our days! Our Social Media and Communications team will also treat you to a fun-filled dinner in Manhattan!

Second Prize (Video with the 2nd most votes):

  • $150 TpT gift card, TpT swag, and a special blog post featuring you and your video!

TpT Staff Pick (Video with most votes from TpT staff panel):

  • $50 TpT gift card and TpT swag

Throughout the voting process, we’ll also be giving away TpT swag and gift cards to honorable mentions that make us laugh, make us cry, or are just plain awesome.

1. What will you be looking for when choosing the top 15 videos, and how will they be evaluated?

When choosing the top 15 videos, each entry will be reviewed and scored by 10 Sponsor staff members (“Reviewers”). Reviewers will score each Entry based on the following 4 Categories:

  1. Creativity: Get creative with your video! You can easily record a video of you sitting at your desk looking at the camera, but we’d love to see you get up and film somewhere that adds to your story or provides a creative backdrop. The format of your video is also up to you — you can make a list, create graphics, use props, and more!
  2. Originality: We want your video to be true to you. It should tell your story, not a general one that can apply to any other TpT’er. We’re looking for uniqueness, which will come naturally if you’re true to your own personal story.
  3. Production Quality and Length: If your video is shaky and blurry, it will be hard to focus on the quality of your content. Be sure to make a video that is produced to the best of your ability. Now is the time to bring out the inner filmmaker in you! In addition, your video should be longer than 30 seconds, but also under 2 minutes.
  4. Evokes Emotion: We love videos that make us cry as much as the ones that make us laugh. Your story should evoke emotion from the audience that causes them to remember your story well beyond the end of the video.

Each Category will be worth 10 points for a maximum per Reviewer score of 40 points. Each Entry will be scored by the same number of Reviewers. Each Entry’s scores will be summed and the 15 Entries with the highest total scores will move on to a vote by the Facebook community (Public Vote).

2. What can this video be about?

  • This video can be about anything related to TpT. It can be about a specific resource, about why you started a store, how TpT has helped you gain valuable time back with students, or about a personal relationship you’ve developed through TpT.

3. How do I record and submit my video?

  • You can use a video camera, a camera with a recording function, your webcam, your smart phone, or any other recording device. Once you record your video, you’re allowed to use software (like iMovie or FinalCutPro) to edit it, but you are not required to do so. Once the video is saved to your computer, you can upload it to YouTube. Learn how to upload videos to YouTube here.
  • Once you’ve uploaded it to YouTube, submit your video in the contest tab on our Facebook page.

4. Can I make this video with someone else?

  • Yes, this video can have as little or many people as you’d like in it, but please keep in mind that if you win, we only have 2 tickets to NYC.
    • Each video can only be submitted once. If you create this video with other members of the TpT community, only one of you can submit the video.
    • If you make this video alone, you will have a choice of who comes to NYC with you.
    • If you make this video with one other person, you have the option to bring that person as your guest to NYC.
    • If you make this video with more than 2 people, please note we only have 2 tickets to NYC. If you win, you’ll have to decide who gets the trip prize.

5. What are the time requirements for this video?

  • Please make sure it’s over 30 seconds, but no longer than 2 minutes. We’ll allow a few seconds either way, but try to keep to that timing.

6. What will the TpT Panel be looking for when choosing the Top 15 and the TpT staff pick?

  • We will be judging your video based on these 4 criteria:
