We here at TpT appreciate everything you do, and we believe teaching is the most important profession in the world. We truly adore coming into work each day knowing that we’re helping incredible educators like you.
We’ve loved getting to know some of you through meet-ups, social media, and classroom visits, so we thought it was about time you got to know some of us! We recently moved our offices (within Manhattan, New York City) from SoHo to Astor Place/East Village… we’re digging our new digs! On our Instagram page, we’ve been sharing mini-bios of TpTeamers (that’s what we call staffers here at TPT HQ). We’ve been having fun showcasing some of the great people who make TpT a truly special place to work.
We’re excited to introduce just a few TpTeamers here now — look out for another round soon!
1. Sam – Social Media Community Developer
Hi! Sam Here. I’m TpT’s Social Media Community Developer and I must admit I love my job. It allows me to use my creativity to connect teachers all around the world. About me: I’m a Jersey girl with a seriously persistent wanderlust bug- my favorite place to travel is Costa Rica. I love my family, any and all types of seafood, hot yoga, and red wine. I am happiest in the ocean surfing with my dad and brothers. I can’t wait to meet some of you at #TpTVegas15!
2. Jillian – Events Specialist
Meet Jillian aka Jilly Bean, our Event Specialist here at#TpTHQ. When she’s not planning for#TpTVegas15, she loves to try new workout classes around the city (spinning is her fave). She claims she makes a mean s’mores bar and is constantly on the search for New York City’s best bagel. Let us know if you have any suggestions for her to try out!
3. Nathan – Engineering Director
Meet Nathan, a#NewT (that’s what we call new team members here at #TpTHQ). He’s our Engineering Director and if you can’t tell by the photo, he’s super nice and always smiling. He enjoys programming and reading sci-fi books in his free time. Nathan accredits his love of programming to his high school math teacher, who told the class they could only use calculator apps to help them on their tests if they created them themselves, so that’s what he did! He made apps a thing before they were a thing… how cool is that?!
4. Bruce – Marketing
Meet Bruce, our marketing guru here at #TpTHQ. Before moving to Brooklyn last year, Bruce lived in Rio de Janeiro for a year during the World Cup, which he says was an amazing experience. Bruce is super-appreciative of his high school Student Government teacher, Mr. Pollack. “He taught me to always take the high road.”
5. Jodi – Senior Editor
Meet Jodi, TpT’s Senior Editor. Let us be the first to tell you that Jodi has a heart of gold. She’s the kind of person who strikes up conversations with strangers, gives her time to charity, and makes you smile no matter your mood. She loves to cook vegetarian soups, do yoga in Bryant Park, and go hiking with her husband (who she’s been with since college)! If you need her, you’ll likely find her in her “Eat More Kale” t-shirt, talking about how much she loves the TpT teacher community.
6. Sydney – Customer Service Specialist
Meet Sydney, our Customer Service Specialist who also happens to be a chicken & waffles aficionado (yum). She says her favorite teacher ever was her high school Geometry teacher: “He renamed exams ‘parties’ and quizzes ‘shindigs’ so we couldn’t help but feel like we were having a blast while filling our brains with knowledge.” She loves to take her pup to play fetch in parks all around New York City and is a big fan of all her co-workers at TpT.
7. Adam- CEO
Meet Adam Freed, TpT’s CEO and inspiring leader. Adam lives in Brooklyn, New York and says he truly looks forward to coming to work each day. And it shows. “I feel inspired by and accountable to all of the amazing educators on TpT.” Speaking of educators, he attributes much of his happiness and success to two of his past teachers, Ms. O’Brien and Mr. Litwak. “They encouraged me, pushed me, and believed in me,” he says. Adam has a deep passion for foreign languages (he speaks 10!)
8. Karen – Product Manager
Meet Karen, one of TpT’s awesome Product Managers. Karen lives on the Upper East Side of New York, right near Central Park. She loves running in the park and going on adventures. Speaking of adventures, Karen was recently in the UK meeting some of our amazing TpT Teacher-Authors over there! She loves hearing stories about how TpT has changed lives in positive ways, and she thinks all teachers are amazing.
