We know you go above and beyond for your students, which is why you’ve created a TpT ClassFund to help meet your classroom’s needs. Whether you’re a first-time fundraiser or a seasoned pro, you can never have too many ideas on how to inspire others to support your class. Here are six top fundraising tips to help you advocate for your students, rally your network, and make your TpT ClassFund a success.
1. Make a list of the people to reach out to.
Reach out first to the people who you think will be most invested in your students’ success or who would be the most curious about what you’re doing in your classroom. This list could include your PTO/PTAs, your administrator, your students’ parents, friends and family, or anyone else you think may be invested in your school.
(P.S. Before you begin emailing or posting on social media, double-check to make sure that you’re following any school rules that would be relevant to this kind of activity. )
2. Keep it short and sweet — and make the impact clear.
Once you’ve nailed down who you’re going to reach out to, it’s time to figure out what you want to say. Whether you ask for contributions via email or social media, let potential supporters know you’ve created a TpT ClassFund, explain why you thought they’d want to know, and above all, be sure to highlight the impact that TpT resources have on your students’ learning experience. 3. Create a sense of urgency.
When asking for contributions, let potential contributors know why their funds would be helpful right now. Is there an upcoming test for which TpT resources would help your students prepare? Are you about to start a new unit for which additional resources would help your students learn in more impactful ways? People are more likely to contribute when they believe that time is of the essence, so be sure to explain why contributing now — rather than later on — would be beneficial to your students.
4. Share your TpT ClassFund on social media.
Use your social media accounts to spread the word about your TpT ClassFund. (Remember to double-check to make sure that you’re following any school rules that would be relevant to this kind of activity.) Whether you prefer Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or another channel, there is no shortage of opportunities for you to post the link to your TpT ClassFund and to encourage potential supporters.

5. Be sure to say thanks!
One of the most important elements of fundraising is the thank you note. When you get a contribution, be sure to send a personalized note to the person who contributed. A nice touch would be to let them know what TpT resources you were able to purchase with the funds they contributed (and how those resources helped your students learn).
6. Keep on keeping on.
If you’re off to a slow start, don’t be discouraged. Be patient, be persistent, and stay true to yourself. Remember why you were motivated to start your TpT ClassFund in the first place. You’ve got this!
